Gorjuss card

So I haven't beeen crafting much recently, you know how it is, with so many things going on in life, crafting just seems to take a back seat sometimes but I have made the odd card or gift so I thought I'd share what I've been up to.

This first one is the first card anyone has ever asked me to make, i was so thrilled to be asked. I was a retirement card for a guy from work.

It was also my sister in laws 40th birthday so I made her an easel card using some gorjuss girls decoupage, some sizzix rolled flowers, some handmade bunting and some bling.

I also made her a box of handmade milk chocolate truffles with vodka (these were deelish!)

mmmmmm....

And something to put her gift card in

Ok so I can't take any credit for this fathers day card, my beautiful little 4 year old boy drew the pictures (sorry, proud mummy moment!!) and we made some smartie cookies (daddy's favourite) and some chocolate chip cupcakes with mint frosting.

I'm having a sort out in my craft room at the moment so hopefully i'll be able to get in there properly soon and start creating again.

Steampunk shadow box

So I'm back with another project to enter in this weeks forever nights freaky friday challenge 35
The challenge was 'anything altered' so I took this ordinary photo frame from wilkinson's and turned it into...........

......this steampunk shadow box!

I ripped up some pages out of one of my favourite books 'Alice in Wonderland' and used matte medium to stick them on. I first went over this with distress stain in broken china then rubbed over with rusty hinge distress ink and i loved the way it came out.

I used a steampunk lady and the steampunk border from the fantastic Octopode Factory, this lovely lady is fastened in at the front of the frame to give it some dimension. I gave her some metal textured wings and added some metal spirals covered in alcohol ink over a background made up of some chain and watch parts. Oh and there are some watch parts all around the inside of the frame too.

I just love the way this turned out and I think this is my favourite thing i've ever done and it just looks gorgeous on my shelf in my craft room xxx

Make a month March 2012

Ok so I know I am super late for this but I've been really ill with norovirus for the past fortnight, so here is my make a month for march. I made a scrapbook for my gran for her 70th birthday last year but since then she has asked me to incorporate a couple of other photos so I did those in march for her. The album uses various graphic 45 collections.

This isn't very easy to see but its a family tree that ive sprayed with glimmer mist, torn round the edges, distressed the edges and edged in distress ink.

I used some tattered angels glimmer screens and walnut gold glimmer mist, some tattered angels glimmer glass pieces and some prima bling and flowers.

Make a month February 2012

Ok so I have neglected my lovely blog this month but so much has been going on in my home life, 2 trips with my fella to hospital, a poorly rabbit and cuts at work so I just haven't had time to fit in much crafting. I have made a few graphic 45 cards this month for some upcoming birthdays so this will be my make a month february 2012. I'll be back on track after next week as it is my sons 4th birthday party on saturday and I have so much to do, i'm even decorating the cake this year, i'll post some pics if it turns out ok :)

Make a month January

So here is my make a month for January. Its a birthday book that I made for my mum for her birthday last week. I had seen a mini album on Laura Dennison's blog, it was an envelope accordian mini album and I thought that it would be a perfect base for my book. Its made using my 2 favourite collections, Cosmo Cricket's Circa 1934 and October Afternoon's Thrift Shop. I had to keep the decoration to an absolute minimum so the book would fold back together.

Each page has a card with the month on, which is just an index card cut down to size and stamped with the month, with a ribbon tab.

The address pages have a index card folded which i've handwritten. Oh and here's the card I made for her too.

This had a kraft card base, October Afternoon Thrift Shop paper, sticker and lettering. Finished off with some prima bling, a Wild Orchid crafts flower and some websters pages bloomers trim. Oh and she loved them both x

Tin man tag

This is tag #2 which i'm going to enter in the Octopode Factory Friday challenge #30 somewhere over the rainbow.
Im really in love with making tags at the moment and i'm sooo proud of myself because i've completed 2 tags in 2 days! Yay me!

I love love love The Octopode Factory images and fell in love with this little fella the moment i set my eyes on him. I found a tin man quote online and I knew I had to use my new free little heart stamp with it and my favourite colour PINK! I did a little acrylic paint blending, stamping, copic colouring,  printed my text of the computer and edged it in cerise acrylic paint and voila!

Frank n Furter Tag

Ok so here goes... This is my first challenge entry and im so excited about it! I was flicking through last night and I came accross the Forever Night Challenge, this looks right up my street. The challenge this week is to create something with a Rocky Horror theme so as soon as I got home from work I put on my Rocky Horror dvd for a bit of inspiration and got straight to it and came up with this:

I started with a background using red and purple dylusions acrylic paint and a bit of gesso using a dry brush. I sprayed through a circle template with grape dylusions ink spray (I love this stuff, can you tell??), then did a bit of stamping with some Tim Holtz stamps.

I coloured Frank n furter in with my copics and glittered his corset and gave him a few pearls.

I stuck him on with and added some lips, chain, some pearls on his shoes and my fave song from the movie.
Im off to enter this into Forever Night Challenges Challenge #23 "Rocky Horror Picture Show.

A make a month 2012

Ok so I have took the plunge and signed up for the a make a month 2012 challenge on The Felt Fairy's blog. I can't wait to get started and already know what my first make is going to be, I just hope I will be able to finish it in time. This will be a challenge for me because I have no problem starting projects but I somehow seem to lose momentum and never finish anything, mind you I do find I do my best work on a deadline! xx

Brand new blogger

So I've decided to take the plunge and create a blog. I have been so inspired by everybody in blogland that I though it time to get involved myself. I hope to share photos of my creations and join in a few challenges along the way, once I figure out this blogging lark! xx
